2012 Sustainable City Awards, Thrifty Couture Highly Commended:  Greening the Third Sector

Thrifty Couture won the Highly Commended prize in the Greening the Third Sector at the 2012 City of London’s Sustainable City Awards.  The awards are national and the UK’s foremost sustainability awards, recognising outstanding effort in working towards a sustainable future.  This year the judges assessed 300 entries.  The Greening the Third Sector category recognises and rewards the efforts of community organisations and charities across London, who are making real improvements to their ecological footprints by reducing waste, using energy and water more efficiently and cutting down on transport and resource use.  The award was in association with The City Bridge Trust and The Worshipful Company of Patten Makers.

The venue was the magnificent Mansion House and The MC was Raymond Blanc, the anglophile restauranteur, fan of Arsenal Football Club and champion of sustainability Raymond Blanc The Sustainable City Awards 2012
Our beautiful crystal award has joined the “bigger” award won by GetMoreLocal last year as winners in The Sustainable Procurement category.  Our colleagues at GetMoreLocal were also short listed in The Sustainable Procurement category again this year.  Next year we plan to enter all our projects.  Note to self:  get a bigger trophy cabinet
