ThriftyCOUTURE at The London Green Fair

Me holding my hand painted banner ready for the fair!
The 4th June was The London Green Fair. With only 2 weeks to prepare we worked hard to develop the second hand items into well tailored, individual pieces. After creating 30 recycled fabric bags, 50 brooches and a number of recycled fashion garments, we were finally ready to take on the 'greenies' of London.

Nervous would have been an understatement but with the garments looking so sharp and the stall perfectly decorated with TC bunting, I was finally excited to see what the public thought of our recycled fashion idea.

Up against the big guns in ethical fashion we did remarkably well. There was great interest in our clothes and due to the clothes looking so fresh, crisp and on trend many people didn't realise that they were actually up-cycled second hand garments and the history behind each garment simply added extra value and interest.

Other than struggling with the wind, the day couldn't have been better. There were vast amounts of people and a great variety of stalls; from free a free book shop to bicycle powered music.
And we sold most of our stock!! :)
